Hi friends! I am here today to talk about one of my FAVORITE things… something that I use in my classroom EVERYDAY… GONOODLE!! Have you heard of GoNoodle!?? It is an amazing way to let your students take a "brain break" in your classroom while they do a fun dance, exercise, or stretch! They follow a fabulous video that you project from the GoNoodle website on your computer. As a class, you create a GoNoodle champ, and earn points for doing brain breaks. My class LOVES it! Today as part of our blogger blitz, I have an exclusive GoNoodle giveaway for you as well as a discount code to use on their website, so stay tuned!
Before we get to the giveaway, I wanted to share with you the top 5 ways that I use GoNoodle in my classroom:
I can't tell you how many times I tell my class during the day: "Let's see if we can earn a brain break!?" and instantly, their behavior changes… they sit up taller in their seats, and we get our work done! It's amazing what a 3 minute dance break can do to motivate your kiddos to get their work done!
GoNoodle helps my first graders to calm down!! We like to do some Maximo yoga as we come in from recess each day. This is the perfect way to get our brains focused and calm so that we can start our math lesson.
I love to use GoNoodle in between my lessons to help with transitions! I will often start a brain break as I still have a few of my slower kiddos cleaning up and putting their books & supplies away. The rest of the class will start dancing or exercising, and sure enough my slow moving kiddos will speed right up so that they can join us! Works every time!
Ok, so I'll admit it… sometimes I don't like to take my kiddos out to PE, and sometimes it's just TOO HOT!! Well, GoNoodle has got me covered once again! They have longer brain breaks called "indoor recess," as well as running and track and field events. My students love doing these when we can't go out to PE!
Last but not least, sometimes you might need something quick & fun to fill an extra 5 minutes with your students before lunch time or dismissal time, well… that is another great time to turn on a GoNoodle brain break! My kids love doing them anytime of the day!!
And now for some fun!!
If you want to win that ADORABLE GoNoodle tumbler pictured above, all you need to do is leave a comment on this blog post! Tell me how you use GoNoodle, or would like to start using GoNoodle in your own classroom! I will choose a winner at random!

ReplyDeleteBrainbreaks! We also use it to spell our spelling words with the body build. The field trip is a class favorite! Oh, and I can't forget about the indoor recess..now that is a lifesaver!

ReplyDeleteI use it for PE and to help wake us up after our rest time in our room. We love it!
ReplyDeleteI also love using it when my kiddos come in from lunch, it brings them down a notch. My firsties love seeing their champ transform as we gain levels!
ReplyDeleteI started using Go Noodle last year during my first year of teaching. We would use it first thing in the morning and after lunch and any other time we could. My students loved it especially the yoga type ones. I havent yet started it with my grade threes, but I plan to try this upcoming week! Noodle on friends!!
ReplyDeleteGoNoodle is the best! Using it as a transition is for sure the best motivator for students to get finished up with something! Love that tumbler :)

ReplyDeleteI use GoNoodle for many things in my classroom, but it has been especially helpful this year! My students have a difficult time transitioning back into "class mode" after recess, lunch and PE. Using GoNoodle at these times helps their bodies and minds prepare for learning...not to mention the fact that they LOVE IT! I tell all of the teachers I know about GoNoodle and having this tumbler would just be another way to spark up conversations about this amazing classroom tool!
ReplyDeleteI use GoNoodle a ton! Brain breaks, indoor recess, and time fillers for sure! I also use it as part of my class behavior plan. If they fill their 10 frame for following the designated behavior (right now it's the whole class responding to the quiet signal) they get to play one game. I also use the body spell game for them to learn their sight words.
ReplyDeleteGoNoodle sounds like a great thing to use in my classroom! I teach science and math, and at our school, math and language arts are over an hour long with no breaks in between. My students go crazy! These are some great ideas to give my students a little brain break!
ReplyDeleteI love Go Noodle! I use it for transitions, time fillers, and energy releasers! My new class loves it!
ReplyDeleteI use GoNoodle for Brain Breaks because there are times when there aren't any natural transitions in my schedule. It definitely gives my kiddos a chance to get the wiggles out.
ReplyDeleteThe Super Sparkly Teacher
I would love to start this in the middle of my extra long math classes to give my kiddos a mini break!
ReplyDeleteI've got a bonkers class this year and we need to get the wiggles out!
ReplyDeleteI use it for transitions and schedule them throughout the day, but I like to have my class earn extra breaks, too!
ReplyDeleteI discovered gonoodle last year and use it in my dual language class. Since we learn in two languages we use gonoodle on English day. We would love gonoodle in Spanish one day too!
ReplyDeleteWe love using GoNoodle to transition between classes! It is also a life saver on NO RECESS RAINY DAYS! It's fantastic that I can upload the songs we are working on in class also and feel like the kiddos can use GoNoodle and are still safe online! :)
